Akçadağ Vocational School was established in 1997 within İnönü University and began its activities by admitting students to the Computer Programming and Business Administration programs during the 1998-1999 academic year. Following its founding, it continued its education at İnönü University's Central Campus for a time, then at the Battalgazi Campus. In 2015, it began operating at its new campus in the Akçadağ district, which bears its name.
Akçadağ Vocational School was transferred to Malatya Turgut Özal University, established in 2018, and began continuing its educational activities under its umbrella. During this period, the school added Civil Air Transportation Management and Laboratory and Veterinary Health programs to diversify vocational training and more effectively meet the needs of the region. These programs offer students a broader range of education and strengthen their employment opportunities.
